Larimar is found in only one place in the world – approx 1/2 square mile in the mountains above Baoruco in the Dominican Republic. It is a form of pectolite and is the the result of volcanic activity that occurred millions of years ago making it a very rare gemstone. Its colorations vary from white, light-blue, green-blue to deep blue.

Some photos have been taken after wetting the stone with water. This will enhance the colours making them more vibrant. When the stone dries out the colour will fade a little. This is perfectly normal.
