The beginNing
Sometimes life is hard. At times, we all feel anxious and stressed and during the early period of the COVID pandemic in 2020, when we were asked to stay at home, our family experienced a crisis of emotions. By chance (or maybe fate), I received an enhydro quartz point with moving bubbles inside it. When I used a loupe magnifying glass to look at it, my heart stopped. My mind emptied and I was lost in a magical world, peaceful and quiet. The relaxation that I gained was unbelievable!
I have practised mindfulness before, but have found that simply looking at a crystal under a loupe – its colour, formation and beauty, sets my mind free from anxiety and negative thoughts. Sharing my experience with my husband rekindled his childhood interest in crystals to such a level that it has turned into a passion. He has now studied the subject and was recently awarded diplomas in “Crystal Healing” and is a “Registered Gemmologist”.
As a couple, we feel so lucky to have found something that we both have a passion for and we can’t wait to share the happiness that we have found through crystals with the wider world.
With our longstanding business experience in crafting products, we wanted to create a new company to focus solely on crystals. We started Calder Crystals with the aim of sharing our fervour for crystals and to help you to find the crystals which can talk to you. We started collecting natural opals from Ethiopia and Australia, unable to resist their phenomenal play of colours. We then started to source Rhodochrosite from Argentina; Larimar from Dominican Republic; Vera Cruz Amethyst from Mexico and Selenite from Morocco (we need lots of selenite charging bowls and plates for our own collection!). The list goes on and we are still working on expanding our collection.
The Future
We are embarking on a journey to hunt and collect crystals from all around the world! The pleasure that this brings is indescribable. We hope that you will join us on this journey as we explore millions of years of magic together.
