Grossular is member of the Garnet group, and is its most varicoloured form, occurring in almost all colours except for blue. Grossular is often dark in colour, but it also forms the lightest coloured forms of Garnet, and can even be white or colourless. Each small growing crystal forms in small cube like shapes or faceted like sections and grows within a matrix. Epidote is a semi-precious gemstone found in yellow to green, though it may appear brown or black because of how dark the tone can be. The stone belongs to the epidote mineral group and serves as the most common member. Other gems within this group include zoisite, clinozoisite, allanite, and piemontite.
