Please handle with extra care. These are very fragile stones. These specimens are for DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY. They are not suitable for cutting.

Crystal type Opal, also known as specimen grade Opal, is a non-hydrophane Opal. This particular kind of Opal should always be kept wet in either water or oil. If these stones dry out in any way they are prone to cracking. Its Opal gamble to whether each sample is gem grade material or not.
All our Opal specimens will be shipped in plastic bags with a little water inside to keep them in the wet condition they need.
