Aquamarine is the blue to green-blue gemstone variety of beryl. The name aquamarine comes from two Latin words aqua marinus meaning “water of the sea”. Aquamarine can be found growing within Siderite. This is a mineral of primarily iron carbonate and found in the Erongo Mountains of Namibia. It can also grow within Black Tourmaline and Feldspar.
