Turritella Agate is the name used for a brown, translucent to semi-transparent, fossiliferous agate found in the Green River Formation of Wyoming. It is very easy to recognize because it is a fossil formation consisting of ancient snail shells that have been crystallized and silicified with the brown Chalcedony being the bedrock in which the shells are hosted.
