• Morado Opal, also called ‘Mexican Purple Opal’, ‘Violet Flame Opal’ and ‘Opal Royale’, is a variety of common Opal (stones without play-of-colour or fire) that was recently discovered in central Mexico. Morado opals chemical composition is very close to Tiffany stone which is only found in Utah, both of them are primarily composed of Opal and Fluorite which gives the colour purple. Not only do they have similar appearances but they also have the exact same colour of fluorescence (UV light reaction).
