• Lithium quartz is a variety of quartz that contains lithium but the amount of lithium within the stones is not enough to be considered a gemstone or mineral on its own. It contributes to the colour of the crystal which can be a very pale pink, and it can also be mauve purple. These crystals can transparent, as well as opaque and is found in areas where there are lithium-rich clays and as these clays become weathered they erode causing lithium to be deposited within other minerals.
